Business Education

San Juan Development realizes the need for business education for our community. We offer workshops and consulting around resiliency, diversity, and fundraising. In 2018, SJDA received a grant from the Office of Economic Development & International Trade that awarded us as a Certified Small Business Community which allowed us to expand and continue our business education offerings. SJDA is partnered with the Small Business Development Center in Durango, CO to create regular programming for our business community thorough the year in Silverton. These offerings are usually at low or no cost to residents and are open to non-residents at regular costs. This grant also allowed us to open a co-working space and business center in the Grand Imperial Hotel Business Center.

All offerings can be found on our Calendar.

Whether you are a first-time business owner, relocating to Silverton, or looking to grow your current business, you can call our office to set up a consulting appoint with our team. We welcome anyone in for a chat, whether your idea is still in infancy or you’re ready to take the next steps.

SJDA can connect you to other experts to consult on specific topics at little to no cost. We have great resources available both in our local community and through regional partnerships.

San Juan Development Association has a great understanding of the local community and what it means to do business and invest in Silverton. Let us help you navigate your path and get connected to the right people for help. We can also go over financing options when you’re ready.

SJDA can schedule specific 1-on-1 consulting days throughout the year with expert instructors on topics of interest to the local business community. Look for those on our calendar to see what’s planned! Previously, these have included: Excel, QuickBooks, General Business, Start your Own Business, Diversify Your Business, & Resiliency Planning.
